Just got into fishing for these bad boys and man do I love it. Great eating too!! Have water front property on St. George's Island I am allowed to fish. AWESOME place! Don't really know how big these things get but I thought I had a rockfish on my line!!

Nice fish. For their size, they sure do put up a fight. What were you using for bait? I've always used shrimp. I know peelers are excellent bait too, but a bit harder to come by.

Blood worms work great and also earthworms. I think they worked well but I was a bit intoxicated that trip.

I know several guys that have started using the Gulp artificial, bait smell lures, especially in shrimp, and have at least equal, sometimes better, success than live bait. Last longer on the hook, too.

I used squid to catch that one. Had a lot of luck on bloodworms and actually tried the one inch peeler crab from berkley. Caught a good bit off of the berkley! I would say that it works really well!!
