I was out crabbing this weekend & got my first cownose of the year. Probably saw 15 of them breaking the surface of the water. Should only get better.

Did he have any luck fishing there? I know a few guys that fished there last week & only got 1 bite in 6 hours.

Do y'all fish for them with rod and reel ?? They respond very nicely to a 32" fiberglass arrow. If someone reading this has any floating boat, and is willing to show me the spot, I will give you all the fish I shoot, fill up your truck and buy plenty of cold beer.

Tourette I'm going to ask the deer hunter if he wants to go Friday afternoon. We launch out of Chaptico but you are more than welcome. I'm itching to fill the boat as well.

I was going to go today in the Narrows, but took the side of my pointer finger off with a knife yesterday. Doc said no water for a few weeks till the stitches come out. Crab Alley is full of them.

After the total flop of yesterdays hunt i was down in Bryan Road talking to the fam, My wife's cousin is a commercial crabber and he crabs out of Benedict alot, said he was surprised we didn't have more luck. he said when the wind is not blowing they are everywhere down there and even has a ball bat in his boat that he "USES" to keep them away from his trot line... he said he sees over 30 or 40 everytime he goes out there and the weather is nice. May just have to try again when the weather is nice..

Sounds like another trip is in order. When do they leave the bay?
