Anybody seeing any young turkeys yet? Should be a great year for hatching/rearing. ;D I've seen one bunch so far, my Dad and Grandpop have each seen a bunch as well.

A friend saw a batch last week, then went over a hen still setting on eggs with the tractor. No survivors.

Ticks are keeping me out of the woods and in the water. No sightings yet.

Saw a bunch of turkeys yesterday while wokring on deer stands. My uncle said that there were quite a few sightings while the corn was cut too.

Yeah, crop harvesting is making them more visible down here, too. Seeing lots of flocks of young birds, should be tons of jakes for the spring hunt!

Dave, that is good news, but I thought it was a bad year for rearing due to that sustain cold period and heavy rains that we got in the later part of the spring.

Not too heavy I guess, although now I can hardly remember rain at all. Did also see a lot of younger, renest birds throughout the summer.
