Big Fox did you take a dump in Osprey's turkey woods? Now I realize that turkeys cannot really smell too good, but when Big Fox takes a crap in the woods, I think any living animal would run far far away. Therefore, I do not think it is a matter of jinx but rather a matter of stinx!! LOL

I saw a turkey in a distant field this afternoon while driving down to my Dad's house. Thought to myself "Gee, I remember what it was like to work one of those birds, hear him gobbling and get him answering my call, to see him strut in looking for the hen." Course that was in the BF days (Before Fox). Seems like a lifteime ago...

I had BIG FOX out with me this morning & you guessed it.....we didn't see the first turkey. Heard a couple gobbling in the morning & as we went toward them to set up there was some sort of shrieking sound between us & the bird. I have never heard that sound before & have not the slightest idea what it was. Any ideas???
After a while, we walked back to a powerline & walked down that hoping to hear some gobbling, but no luck. We did have 4 dogs come barking toward us to ruin any chance we had.

Keep at it. And if all else fails, buy a butterball at the end of the season... If it makes you feel better I haven't had luck either.

That shrieking was a fox. I don't mean Big Fox I mean a real fox. They scream like that to communicate, scary as hell in the dark. I havn't gotten a bird yet either. From what I understand they are all henned up right now and should be seperating next week sometime. I think. Keep at it Fox it will make it that much sweeter.

Dont know what you heard but fox does sound like a good explanation.... Im from mississippi and if you want a gut wrenching scream in the dark when you walk to the stand in the darkness panthers......... sends chills down your spine.

...or it could have been a bobcat, a screech owl, raccoon, rabbitt caught by an owl ... One man's sceam is another's cry, hard to tell unless you get to hear it!

Why is it the only pics I see of Fox while he is hunting or fishing is him sleeping. I realize he needs all the beauty sleep he can get. Shrek how is Fiona doing?
