I went turkey hunting last Friday with two friends. They were going to call the birds for me. They said they knew were the birds were and how to get em to come in. With in ten minutes they had located the birds. Ten minutes later the turkeys were gobbling to every call they made. It was like watching a hunting TV show play out, perfectly. I was twenty yards in front of them and set up to shoot. Then I saw the turkeys, four of them in a row, gobbling every other step. My heart was about to explode. The turkeys were coming in as if attached to a string. I decided to make my move, put a bead on the lead birds head, pulled the trigger. I then watched as all four ran away. Even the one I was aiming at. I choked on the shot, didn't let em get close enough, just plane missed. At first heart broken for myself then my friends, I soon realized thats part of hunting. Its called 'hunting' not 'getting'. I took away a good lesson and still had one of my most memorable turkey hunts ever. Experiences like this just make it sweeter when you finally connect with that hard earned trophy. Sometimes......You miss.

It happens man. Those turkey's sure are acting funny now - it's much harder to hunt them as it gets later in the season!!!!!!!!!!
