We sat in the stand all afternoon, and i have to say i am very proud of sons patience, and how he has taken what i have tought him to the woods. now to the hunt. it was getting close to come in when i decided to grunt one more time, all of sudden an 8 point showed up out of no where ( as seems to be the case most of the time ) my son had a 20ga single shot and could have taken him down but he froze and couldn'tm pull the trigger. He said that he was scared of the kick. He has shot a 410, and a 22 but never a 20. i was very proud of him as he stood slowly and quitly and blame myself for not taken him to shot the 20 ( next on the agenda). It was a great experiancefor us both i love the fact that he is interested in the outdoors and cant wait for him to harvest his first deer. Until next time everybody be safe and good luck. ;D

A cool hunting experience even if no shot was taken. I'm sure there was some buck fever mixed in with the 20 gauge anxiety. It will just make the one he shoots that much sweeter.

Thats cool, your son is very smart not to shoot if he's scared, you must be proud of him. I bet he's telling his friends "my dad so cool he calls up big bucks"
