So I managed to get this nice one last Wednesday. It was kind of cool since I had seen him the previous Sunday while I was scouting in the evening. I just didn't expect to see him again so soon. I had two does nearby when I caught a glimpse of him making a scrape/rub at about 100 yds. I lost him until he popped out of a thickett and ran down toward the two does. He proceeded to run right toward me and picked up a trail of a doe that passed under me earlier. When he went behind a tree I drew back my bow. But, since he is walking right to me (and now beneath me) I had to hold and rotate. Since he was so close I decided not to mock grunt at him before taking a shot. This ment that he never stopped walking. At about 15 yds he was quartering away and I made the shot. I hit the opposite lung (steep angle) and he only ran about 50 yds. Definitely been a long time coming to get a good one with the bow!

Way to go Fever. It's even better when it's a good shot and a short run ain't it?
