Back from a week of bowhunting in SE Ohio, Zaleski State Forest. No deer in the cooler for me, but two of the 5 guys shot does the last 2 days. Perfect cool weather, leaves turning, deer running, had a great week with my buddies, mostly guys I went to college with. I had one encounter with a big, 140 class 10 pointer, he passed me at 20-25 yards on a ridge saddle, but it was a clearcut regrowth and he got through my shooting lanes too quick for a shot. Saw and heard coyotes out there this year, even saw 2 wild hogs on the way in one morning. Missed the last two years with the fellas because of other trips, was good to be back in the hills. ;D

It's always a fun trip. One of the best things, too, is the cost. We had a cabin for 5 of us from Saturday-Saturday, so we had beds and heat and a kitchen and bathroom and all the ameneties, even a TV, and my share for the week for lodging and food was only $160. License was another 150 or so (although I also used it for spring turkey hunting out there, a bonus). Biggest cost was probably gas, was up to $3.19 out there!!
