As another deer season comes and goes i think we should not focus on If we tagged out or how big of a buck we killed but on how lucky we are to be apart of gods awesome creation. And one More thing... lets pray that turkey season comes quick!

LOL, hadn't been out in a couple weeks, so figured I'd give the last couple hours of the season a try today.
Crazy windy, so hunted from ground. Had two coming like they were on a string. SHOULD have crossed a stream about 15 yds in front of me, BUT made a 90. I was against a tree, so had to do a 180, as they were now behind me. Too thick to sneak one thru, so hoped they get clear. JUST about open, about 25 yds, and I hear a STOMP! Lean head out a bit and look slightly to my left, and another doe. And another, and another, and another. 4 more about 12-15 yards away, plus the original two still about 25 yds away. 12 eyes, all burning holes in me.
I'd LIKE to tell you that I pulled out a last minute of the season, million to one shot, but that'd be a lie. We all stared at each other a long minute, and then they all expolded.
Still had a great time! Payback time for squirrels now, THEN I'll start thinking about turkeys.
Hope all had a good season!

It occured to me yesterday as I was getting ready to head to town near dark that I should have bowhunted for the last night. I grabbed the binocs and glassed the back field - got to see next year's shooters! Were 10 deer feeding in the radishes and turnips, three were bucks. One forky, a decent 7 pt I saw a few times this year and passed, probably 2 years old, and a spindly 9 or 10 point, maybe 110-120" score, 2 years old. Those last two should really blow up this year and be nice bucks come September. Working on a smoothbore 16ga flintlock now, I think it has a date with the bigger one for next early MZ season. Just that quick, my post duck season depression vanished and I'm looking forward to next fall! Is it wrong that I don't even go back to work for 2 1/2 months and I'm already looking forward to Jubilation Day in October?!

Had a pretty good season this year. no big bucks but shot a few deer, had a great trip to Wyoming, best duck season I have had in years and got a turkey hunt coming up. Not to bad considering the crappy hunting weather we all had to deal with.. Come on big fish and gobblers now...

I had a good season as well. 10 doe maked me and some close friends really happy! I can't wait till this spring season and next deer season as I am going to be taking my son hunting a lot more cause he is taking his hunting safety course. I am also getting him a shot gun for turkey and borrowing a crossbow for him to deer hunt! I also enjoyed God's creation and blessings throughout the season!

I had a great season and still am... goose ain't over yet and trout/perch just began fellas! ;-) Had a great wyoming hunt with quite a few guys on this board. Several awesome goose and duck hunts. Deer I didn't really get to all that much. Did have a blast with hunter though! Hopefully next season there's a few more deer in there. Then a few squirrels, doves and rabbits sprinkled in there. Every year I learn something new, open a new door, make it out with more friends and just get more time to enjoy nature. I can't wait for Turkey season. But honestly, even if I didn't get a single thing, it's still great to just get out with friends and enjoy the hunt. I can't wait to get my girls out there one day.
