Anyone have any luck? We headed west, but not as far as we usual. (Garrett had 2'+ of snow) Snow/rain and WIND made for tough conditions. Pretty sure every bird in western MD is dead, hidden under all the blowdowns!
Did walk up within 35 yards of a sleeping coyote and by the time I realized just exactly what it was, it was up and GONE! Never even raised my gun!
Can't sit in the woods here at home without seeing a bunch! When I'm deer hunting, it's turkeys, when I'm turkey hunting, it's deer....

I'm almost glad we don't have a fall season down here, there's already too much to do this time of year!!

You going out this Fall, Dave? I've been looking at the calendar and thinking about it, would like to tote the .40 longrifle out there for a few days. Just have to see if I can pull myself away from the whitetails and bowhunting during that span...

Looks like we'll miss it this year unfortunately, and even worse, have been hearing reports of good numbers of birds in our usual haunts. GOOD LUCK if you get out there.

Never tried the fall season. Is it a lot different? I'm pretty familiar with the hunting grounds, but wondering what is different vs. the spring season if I were to give it a shot.

Not looking like I'll make it out, weather looks pretty poor the next few days and got enough to keep me busy here.
Lot different than spring season Frank. for starters you can shoot hens and/or use a rifle!

Lot different than spring season Frank. for starters you can shoot hens and/or use a rifle! And most always seem to be at least 75 yds away, so .223 for me! Some folks rush in on a flock, bust them up, and then try to call them back. Too damn steep out there for me to rush anywhere. Heck, some hills so steep, the birds have to tack back and forth to get up them!

I'd be fine with running down, but up would be a completely different story. I know the terrain fairly well so I know all about the steep ones......
