Good luck brother.. I will have Dylan pearched in my stand with me on the shore with the 243 and/or the 12 gauge with buck shot ready.. He cannot decide on what he wants to shoot. May have to take both just in case one comes in close.. then it is just point and click BOOM.... Good luck everyone..

total bust o rama for us.. Hunted the Eastern Shore all day Saturday.. Kids seen 2 deer when I went to park the truck in the AM and we saw one 1500 yards away in the evening but that was it. Hunted Sunday and did not see a thing.. Disappointing but still lots of season left..

We had an interesting weekend. Saturday morning I took a boy and his dad to a spot where I had been seeing plenty of bucks. Nothing moved all morning, as we left as soon as we hit the blacktop a big buck ran across the raod in front of us. Uh-oh, here we go again. This kid has been trying for 6 years, now 14 years old, and must have a black cloud hanging over him. Most of the time doesn't see anything, missed one last year, then also hit and lost one last year. He even has the same bad luck with turkeys, always has them close but can never get a shot. On to Sunday. In the AM I put them in a spot on my farm, hoping to catch deer coming back across the fields or a buck cruising. Nothing all morning. (Of course I sat the same spot today for ducks and had a nice buck cruise across the field ). In the evening I moved them to another blind overlooking the field and all the turnips and clover I've got planted. At 5pm I heard a shot, FINALLY he killed one!! ;D Small button buck, even still had a few spots on it, but he wasn't about to be picky at this point and I don't blame him. Kid made a great shot with his .243, too, through the neck and upper shoulders at 140 yards, dropped it in it's tracks. First deer for the boy or his Dad, they're learning together. So happy for them to finally get something down, hoping it continues for them during the main gun season.

Long story short. We were just covered in deer all afternoon on Saturday. She pass 4 different yearlings at less than 30 yds. Saw 2 monsters and was able to get a shot off on a smaller 6 pt. He was about 60 yds out and she hit him a little back. We got down to track him and I didn't like the sign I saw so we backed out. While we were standing there does continued to pour into the field. She wanted to shoot another one but I told her it was more important to put our efforts into finding this one. Went back on Sunday, trailed the buck into the swamp and lost him in there. A pretty good weekend in the woods with her. Just wished we could have found him.
