I finally got my first deer of the season. I know it not far into te season but my atence was wearing thin! I was set up in a bottom yesterday evening and several deer came around the ridge in front of me and I was sure I wasn't going to get a shot. One of the doe started heading towards me down the hill and then turned right. I saw the shooting lane which I ranged to be 44 yards at the furthest possible point. She was at the furthest possible point. I know some people will not shoot that far but I have been practicing and new that I could hit her. When I shot she ducked hard (which I anticipated) and my ramcat went right through her spine and far lung. She went straight down and in ten seconds was motionless. I feel so much more relaxed now that I have one down!
