How's everyone's plots doing now?
My radishes are STILL 3-4' tall with flowers. Young deer are bedding the dang stuff. Turnips look awesome too, walked it yesterday and I've got turnips 6-8" across!! Can't believe how good they look. Almost makes me want to stop hunting now so that I have a tag left for late season, can't wait to see what they suck in when it gets cold...

Mine are only about 2' tall with turnips the size of tennis balls. Think you got yours in a couple weeks ahead of me.

If you want some, give me a call this weekend -
They're within 10 minutes of your house.
And there's almost 10 acres of them. ;D

Frank, are they hitting your turnips yet? Nibbling on the leaves here, plenty of tracks in them, but not really hitting them hard yet. I know we need cold weather to get them on those things, but had hoped for a little more use of them by now.

Last time I was there (Saturday before shotgun), there were a couple of them chowing down on the turnips. Haven't been back in a couple of weeks, so not sure.

Finally working mine hard. Mouthfuls gone out of at least every other turnip bulb, lots of tops eaten off. My radishes are still green and healthy and they're eathing the heck out of those tops, too.
Problem is it seems to be all night feeding. That, and I've about had enough of deer hunting for the year and have moved on to ducks. Oh well, at least the deer will have food for the winter and go into spring fat and healthy...

Hey Frank, how do yours look now? Mine have so many tracks in the mud it looks like cattle have been out there all night. All the turnips have the top part chewed out, showing the white flesh, and all the radishes have been mowed down and they're tearing up the rotting tubers, too. They certainly ate their fill here for the late winter. Clover is starting to leaf out in some places here, they'll be switching off to green soon...

About 10 acres planted, now looks like a freshly cut lawn. Nothing left.
