Has anyone checked out or used one of the upland game farms in Northern Maryland? Verdant Valley? Howard County farms? I see them in the field & trapping guide you get with your license and at some expos.
Anyhow, I was thinking about doing one of their pheasant/quail or dove packages and wondered if anybody had any experiences with one of these outfits? Or any other suggestions?

They had one in St Marys County a few years ago. It was alot of fun. I know some guys that have went to Pintail Point on the eastern shore and said it was fun too. Gets a little pricey when you start buying birds but since we do not have much upland bird hunting in this area it is a pretty fun experience. I would say save up your money and we take a road trip to South Dakota and do a REAL pheasent hunt next year.

I hunted Howard County Game Farm last season with a buddy for pheasants, had a blast. Good guys, fun hunt, neat terrain, great dogs. No farm will be like a trip to the Dakotas, but they are fun ways to spend an afternoon close to home!

Thanks osprey! Fox, I'd definitely be up for a Dakota hunt next year!
I'm still gonna try and do a Saturday hunt up at one of these places next month before the fun begins... :-)
