Ohhh, this is getting sooooo close! Heard from the outfitter this week, he had three guys for shotgun season and one missed a 180" - and he's still running on his properties.

Nope, Stump Creek Outfitters. Small outfitter right next to my buddy Joe where I hunted last trip out in SE Iowa.

Nothing out here yet fellas. Saw three bucks the first night, Sunday, but nothing since, not even a doe. Have learned this is a very windy place in the winter though!

Well, so far this has been a bust. The outfitter doesn't have food or cover, so not many deer. Cattle have been run on the farm, and cattle clear out the undergrowth and eat any grain left in the fields. Not what I was told to expect. Only seen a handfull of deer all week, and of the 3-4 bucks nothing over 130.
Last night I went next door to a friend's place, he's got standing crops and acres of turnips, deer all over the place. Told him I'd use my doe tag there to help his management, shot a BIG doe around 5pm. Big difference between the two places!
