That is a great story! Awesome hunt hunter! I tried calling in some birds for my cousin and friend last weekend and had one coming but he decided to go up a hill instead. That was not the property we could hunt on or that is where I would have placed them!!! So close! Good luck rest of the year! When do you think the best time to hunt will be during the May 10th-23rd all day hunts? Morning or afternoon?

Thanks again Brett and to answer your question I say just being in the woods and hunting puts the odds in your favor. I have had good success towards the end of the season between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm becasue I believe that is prime time for toms to be breaking away from the hens and searching/strutting for new lady friends to breed. Of course that changes with the all day hunts if you can roost a bird in the late eveing hours. Then I will do a set up as near to the roost tree as possible the next morning, being careful not to get to close to spook the birds out of the roost. To be honest Brett I am a firm believer on hunting according to the conditions and what the birds are showing me and how vocal they are. I will say once again I do like the mid morning and early afternoon hours allot.
