I'm already getting excited for spring turkey season, been seeing a ton of birds this fall! Great hatch here this year. Rarely see more than a straggler or two on my place in the fall, but I've got tons of pics of a flock of 8 at the feeder and my Dad had 14 go by him the other night bowhunting. Should be a load of those loud, steady gobbling jakes in the spring. ;D

Even if he asks you to go, it's not an invitation now. Think you just took care of that. ;D

I think they're the same two letters that invite starts with...

lol! too funny....
On topic though, I'm like a kid in a candy shop waiting for spring season. My aunt and uncle live a couple miles down the road from my house, and she tells me that they had 18 hens walk across their front yard last Thursday. Thats the first time they've seen any in years near their house. Two of 'em she said looked huge. I'm hoping though there's a big ole bearded one following them around in the spring! ;-)

Gungnir, those two bigger birds were likely jakes, most of the big flocks I see now are hens with this year's young, body size is the best indicator of the jakes now...

When you are as small as GUNGNIR is everything looks huge to you.. Poor fella wrestled 103 for our highschool in 1995 and hasn't grown a bit.. poor thing, his new baby is almost as big as him now...

That's true Osprey. I didn't even think of that while I was typing. I got turkey fever the second they told me about a flock down the road from my house. ;-)
Hey I grew two inches this year!! My wife marked it on the wall with a pencil the other day. Although, sadly enough Fox you are correct. My 15 month old's pencil line was only an inch below mine. I'll be overtaken by christmas. At least she'll be able to get stuff off the top shelf for dad later in life.

That's true.... looks like jack and the beanstalk when we get together. Although he does let me know early if it's raining. ;-)
