Dang birds gotta know the season is over. Day after it closed I started seeing birds strutting in places that they haven't been all season, and mostly places they normally would have been. Haven't even been able to get in my road the past two mornings without seeing strutters, yet they've been hiding all last month. Even with both tags filled, I still think I hate turkeys. Have seen at least one hen with little 3" poults this week, the dry weather should really help them this year!

I posted the season dates on a few trees on your farm Dave. Jk, but I know what you mean seems to happen every year after the season is over. Hopefully, those poults will have a good survival without the wet weather.

Yeah, I bet you would do that Bart! Saw another yesterday, not a 1/4 mile from my place, BIG gobbler strutting out in a field with 5 hens dusting all around him.
I wish we'd get some rain, but at least this dry weather is good for the poults, may be a very good year for turkey reproduction.
