In my experience anytime you have a cold snap they slip back into survival mode. THis morning was 40 degrees so I slipped into survival mode and stayed in bed! Had to leave out of woods by 745 anyways so not worth it to me!

I've killed them in the rain, and on FROSTY mornings ,and never heard a thing on what I THOUGHT was a perfect morning.

There is always an exception. I have read research that they go into survival mode and that it does not take much of a temp drop to do so. I would hunt turkeys in 20 degrees but since i only had an hour of light to do so and it was colder than it had been in several days I stayed home.
