I can't wait to get into the woods myself. I live in New Market near Frederick, Md. but I hunt every weekend in Nanjemoy from Sept. till Jan.. I know this cold weather has them feeding big time and I have a four day weekend coming up, so I'll be leaning in a tree tomorrow afternoon. I do love huntin these crazy whitetails.

Went out bow hunting Tuesday evening and saw 4 bucks and 6 does but all young bucks. A small 6 pointer was chasing a doe and very aggressive. Second rut period should be kicking in this weekend and with a cold front and possible snow by Thursday or Friday the weekend should have the mature bucks on the move for sure.

Relying on acorns this saturday! Didn't have the opportunity to get my corn out! Good luck this saturday! I was lucky enough to get a babysitter and I will be in the woods for only my second day of shotgun season....

I think you guy's are right. I take the back roads home from Hunt Valley to Abingdon, MD and I have seen 10 times as many deer on the move as normal. I also think that the second rut is right around the corner. I'm going to put some molasses corn out tonight for Saturday. Good luck guy's and hopefully we all have some pictures to post come Monday!

I'm heading up to the mountain tonite for friday hunt. Calling for temps in the teens and a wind chill near 0. That will get them moving.

My hands went numb on tonights hunt. One basket racked eight point at last light. The morning should be awesome.
