Used my sika Seducer for the first time. Called in a big stag From hundreds of yards away but he stayed 50 yards out. I thought he was gonna trot right in. It was a great hunt but my thermacell broke and the skeeters ate me alive. He was bugling his head off. Never heard it that close before.

That's cool, sounds like a fun hunt. It's awesome when they come in like that! I had to get a new Thermacell today, the ingniter on mine has been on the fritz and finally quit working last night. Stayed at home where there weren' t many bugs, but I need one before hitting sika land! Not bad though, I've had that first one for 5-6 years, and got it free from the company for testing...

Igniter went on mine too. The newer ones are a little bit different. Better igniter. Lights on the first click and it much quieter.

Going out in the morning. Hope to hear some more bugling. I like public land sika hunting. Never see any other hunters and usually see deer. I guess most people whitetail hunt.

I'm going out in the AM too, mixed hunt/scout mission. Bow season on public is great, especially during the week. It'll be a different story come early MZ though, so enjoy it while it lasts!

I was out on Sat. morning and was surprised to have the place to myself. I guess everyone else stayed in bed b/c they thought we were going to get those thunderstorms. It turned out to be a miserable morning though. I was super loud going in (stand was raking all the thick stuff), I jumped a large deer about 15 yards from where I wanted to set up, I only got about 12 ft up the tree as there was a small branch there I didn't see, I knocked one arrow and then dropped my quiver and then proceeded to see nothing the rest of the morning. Oh, did I mention I hit a fallen tree in the dark and fell off my bike. Hopefully, I got all the kinks out for this coming weekend.

Geez Bart, you sound like Homer Simpson on a hunting trip! DOH! Hoping to get out first time this week, and I'm SURE I'll be a while working the bugs out. Hard enough finding all my gear still piled up here and there.

Hard enough finding all my gear still piled up here and there. I did that on the Fri. afternoon hunt. It was nice to get up in my climber and realize I didn't have my screw in hanger for my bow so I had to hold it the entire evening. I reached for a grunt call only to find a slate call from spring turkey.

Heard one sloshing through the marsh this morning. Out popped a nice stag at 15 yards. Too bad it was pitch dark still. Stared at antlers in the moonlight. Heard one bugle.
