I posted my pictures of my first buck with a bow on another website. It was brought to my attention that my pictures with the arrow sticking out was disrespectful to the deer that I shot, and to the viewers. If this offended anyone I apologize. My intentions were not to be disrespectful. Keep in mind that it was my first kill with a bow and that I was very excited to have taken a deer like that so close to my house and have him in my arms! ;D

Hey brettgerhart, I saw that post on the other site and thought that the response you got was a little harsh.
When I saw the pics I thought that the arrow shot was pretty cool. Hunting pictures are not for modeling portfolios, they are to capture the moment of your hunt, and the feeling of taking a nice animal. It's all about the hunters character. Everyone has their own opinion. I like to keep it clean with the tongue in the mouth and not to much blood, but sometimes it's a little hard to remember those things when you are so excited, as I have done before. Like I said before I think the arrow is cool because it shows how you took the deer, and the shots look great with the yellow color of the leaves and the background. Thats just my though, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Just keep HUNTIN HARD!!! BUCKWILD STYLE!!! and good luck for the shotgun opener...

Thanks! I think the guy was trying to be nice about it but when an opinion is given that isn't wanted I think it can be taken the other way. My first response was not written down!

that probably came from a guy that stops on the road and cuts the heads off of deer and leaves the body.. i wouldn't worry about it to much. i think the photo was awesome and it really captures that moment. it would be one thing if you were trying to be disrespectful but to have the picture in the feild of a nice deer with an arrow in it should be taken for what it was. a great shot and a happy hunter.. Opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one and most of them stink...

I am on the same page as everyone else. The picture may offend the some, (anti's mostly) but any deer that was shot would offend them. That is the scene you walked up on when finding your buck. Nothing wrong with it. It sounds like some other hunters take thier deer to the beauty parlor and get them a fresh coat of make-up put on before pics. I have pics that are very bloody and gorey. I don't show those to everyone but I am not sorry they were taken. Just another hunting memory. Great pics, keep em coming!

Jimbow you have to first get a url address. Photobucket.com has a free membership. Once you transfer your pics from your hard drive/cd it will give you a url. Then hit the image block when posting and insert your url inbetween the blocks. Hope to see them soon.

Jimbow, I got an account at photobucket and it works great! Once you download the pics you can then click on the link to highlight it and the hold down the control button as you hit the letter V on your keyboard. This will copy it. Go to the website and in the reply box you can puch down the control button and hit C. That will copy your link there for everyone to see!
