Okay, it's almost deadline time and I've already put it in the paper down here this week, so who's sent in for Blackwater? I don't like not being able to pick the area, nor that you only get the morning before to scout, but should be some big old Toms in there. I put in, choice was for the first Tuesday of the season. If you draw a late date you better have a few cans of bug spray and the T-cell!!!!!!

Applications must be in the office, by mail only, by March 21. They only gave about 2-3 weeks notice!

They must have had the draw, I got mine back in the mail today! Got the date I put in for, the first Tuesday of the season. Not real thrilled about the section, S, but I'll give it a try and see what's there. Anybody else heard back yet?

Had a fun hunt on Tuesday, but no birds came home. Called in three different yelping hens, one of which I could see two gobblers 300 yds down a logging road, but they didn't like me or her. So much for sounding like a real turkey. Also saw three sika while hunting, one came to 10 yds before barking at me. Saw 8 sika the day before while scouting for birds. And only saw one mosquito! But from what's soon to hatch from all the water in the woods it's gonna be hell in a week or so...
