I guess we're all wondering what's coming economically and such, what do you guys see ahead? I've been watching a website, www.urbansurvival.com, and although some of it is pretty far out stuff the guy is spot on way too often. The web-bot project is out there, but I've been following it for 6 months now and it's scary how right they've been. Check it out and see what you think of it, be interested to hear other opinions, on the main page there is a link at the bottom for free daily report, click on that, new updates each day.

I see dark days ahead, but am a pessimist by nature. Pisses me off no end, the socialist bent of our current administration.
And I see it more as a power grab than anything else. Set up tons of new entitlement programs, to benefit your target, core constituency, and LOCK your party into power forever. Plus a HUGE transfer of wealth, from the working man and woman to the deadbeats.
Look for: DC voting rights Puerto Rico voting rights Increased gov control in EVERY aspect of your life, from cradle to grave. Some of the details regarding health provisions are terryifying. Federal contracts for all the pork projects will require UNION workers, another payback, but hell, it's only OUR money! 10 BILLION to Indian tribes, 200 MILLION to Filipino veterans of WWII, 30 MILLION for a salt marsh mouse in San Francisco, 1 BILLION for new NOAA offices. Our great grandkids will be saddled with this debt forever.
And the plan is to put Rahm Emmanuel/White House in charge of the next census! Politicizing the census will give the Dems a huge adavantage.
That and getting 2 or 3 SCOTUS picks and we are DONE as the America we've known.
And the first rule of being a prepper is not to talk about your preps. ;D

Gotcha on rule #1 Dave. But some of us will survive, I think. I think the current political stuff will change soon enough, there will be a huge backlash by the time of the next election. The powers just seem to trade back and forth every decade or so. I just think there's far worse stuff ahead than any political group can do anything about.

Just saw that the House will take up the House/Senate reconciled "Stimulus (Porkulus)" bill at 0900 tomorrow. But it wasn't available to members as of 5:00 pm this evening! And it's only 1,500 pages! PLENTY of time to give it a thorough going over!
And today, Pelosi/Reid stripped out the American worker protections the Republicans inserted. ie, take our pork $$$, and you can't replace Am workers with foreignors! No more! Oops! Sending OUR money overseas or to illegals! THAT will help!
If I had a BP cuff on, it'd blow up!
And Obama criticized the Republicans for "rushing" legislation thru! Stated on his website he would give the American people 5 full days to respond to any bills before a vote! Except in an emergency.I'm betting this, and everything else, we be called such!
Mother of one of the soldiers killed in the terrorist attack on the USS Cole was complaining the other day when Obama had charges dropped against the suspected terrorist. Said she regretted voting for him! WHAT THE HELL DID YOU EXPECT?
AAAARRRGGGHHHHH!

Did either of ya check out that link? The web-bot stuff is pretty sci-fi, and I can't say if all the things they say they predicted they really did, but since I started watching it last summer they called the October market drop within a day - from three months out - and have been talking about a national layoff festival for early 2009 - what we're seeing now - since last August. Predictions ahead are pretty bad, 2009 Summer of Hell, Greatest Depression ever, scary stuff. I hope they start getting things wrong! Market wise they're saying a drop soon down to 6,500 or so, then rally into early fall up to near 10,000, then a severe crash to maybe 700. No, I didn't forget a zero...

I don't think 4,000 is out of the question, but 700 is awfully low.
Guess we'll have to wait & see.

I also expect a rally before the BIG crash! And remember, many ARMS will get ugly come late '09 early 2010. I expect it'll fail worse than Japan's "stimulus: attempt a couple decades ago.
Bullets and beans boys, bullets and beans!
Hell, even Martha Stewart commented that she wouldn't invest in anything she couldn't eat!

Why do you think I'm making guns I can make my own bullets for?! Powder too, if need be. You'd be better served by a 10/22 and a half dozen bricks of .22LR. But that wouldn't be near as fun. And it's a BIG jump from knowing how to make BP to actually doing it sucessfully. And not blowing up. ;D
