Not sure if anybody down this way may have heard about it on the news or scanner (Bartman?), but we lost a hunter Friday evening. Chuck Pierce, father-in-law of a guy I've been friends with since high school, had a massive heart attack in the public woods up North Dorchester Friday morning. They said it looked like he'd just gotten to his tree, stand was on it, bow leaning next to it, pack was laying there too.
I hunted with Chuck, my buddy Ron and his son two youth turkey hunts ago, had a great morning with them calling in all sorts of birds. We had 10 gobblers in range over the course of the morning, 4 of them big Toms strutting as close as 15 yards, but the boy was only 9 and just couldn't figure out how to get it done. I'll remember that morning for a loooong time. Chuck was a good guy, really sucks for his family to lose him around the holidays and hunting season, even if he did go doing something he loved. He was only 52.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your friend. He was way too young to go.

I saw that today, and figured it was his heart.
My condolences to his family and friends. Bad time of year, for sure.
