Just back from hunting antelopes.Just an awesome hunt with Trophy Ridge Outfitters.Seen a bunch of goats and mulies.Blown away at how many whitetails we saw out there.Three bucks I would have placed a tag on if I had them. The guides were very accommodating and willing to keep three guys busy after being tagged out on the first day. Now on to whitetails in rut.

Congrats! For a guy who usually hunts where I can't see more than 30-50yds, it was a WHOLE different world out there for me last year. Can't wait to get back after them again, will most likely take my daughter out in '10.
GREAT JOB!

Thanks Bart and davep. You are right davep .East coast hunters must be a good woodsman and hunter to be sucessfull here. There just need to be a good shot. Can see why a hunter out there would tied thousands of dollars in only the best rifles and optics. We are already planning a return trip next year for mulies or whitetails with a combo merriam turkey.

Congrats on the pronghorn. I've always wanted to shoot one of those. If you don't mind me asking, about how much did the trip cost? A buddy and I have been talking about going on a hunt for a while. And how long was the shot? We need a story!

branson the whole trip ran us about 3 grand a piece. That includes everything from flight,NR tag, tranportation to and from airport, lodging, food and guild service. We hunted all private land his outfit leases. In most area there are over populated as I read. Look like every assign area they are trying to maintain about 18,000 antelopes. In somes cases last year counts came in at 40,000 in a few areas.Non resident doe tags out there is cheap and many people add them on with buck tags. The only problem of course is how to get all the meat back without taking out a loan.Driving out there will save you alot of money, but it's one long trip.My shot was a gimme out there at 200 yards. We was told to expect shots at 150 to 400 yards depending on your ability.Read davep tread from a while back.He did a "do it yourself hunt" and was sucessfull.Draw a tag and get private access permission and I can see a season hunter having alot of success out there.Big Fox the jack-rabbit hunt was awesome. We had jump a few the day before and knew where to go.I jump my the day before and he ran 5 yds and stop so I could take a picture. As I re-jump him the next day I figure he run a little and stop again.Wrong!!! He ran about 2 hundreds yards in a barly field.Took me forever to jump him again.I believe they can tell the differece between a rifle and shotgun ;D.Next up(mini trip) snow goose in Feburary

Yes zag that Steve first time I ever hunted with him.Very nice guy.He shot the first lope.I was teamed up with him on the first morning hunt.I believe one of the requirement to being a fireman is also being able to hunt.I think it is on the fireman's test ;D
