osprey funny!!! The helicopter was flying over us in the morning.Had just a few mosquitos buzz me at dusk, and we can deal with that.My buddy I know don't beleive me how bad I have seen them there. If the state had a fund just for mosquitos control I will give $$$ for that kind of comfort.I posted a picture under the tread, but the image is pretty big.A awesome picture I thought so here is the link s413.photobucket.com/albums/pp218/shedslave/?action=view¤t=tom_sika.jpg

Looks good, nice stag!
The helicopter you saw spraying is DNR hitting phragmites, we've got a twin engine fixed wing plane for mosquitoes.
Fox, you've got to see one before you can kill it. No NAPPING!!!

SS, congrats to your buddy. I saw 2 about that size on Sat. morning just at legal. I gave them a pass. If I had enough light to get them on video it would have been a different story. BTW, I found a dead spike on Sat. Not sure if it could have been yours from a week ago. Shoot me a PM. BTW, Dave I didn't even turn on my thermacell on Sat morning. The swamp where I was at was bone dry. I think the upland places are okay, just the marshes where there is tidal flooding must be nasty. Could have been the cold weather too.

I don't believe the helicopter ever turn the sprayer on osprey. It was cool though to see a chopper with two big booms on it.I would think phragmites control would be mission impossible over there. When I was a manager at a golf course over here we payed the state to spray a couple of tidal marshes for us.I was a licenced applicator for turf but my super had an aquatic one too.We told the owners we wasn't going to do it ,but could get the state as long as they was willing to pay for it. They knock the hell out of it for 2 years, but never really took it out. After that they didn't fund for it any more, and 5 years later it back as strong as ever. Bartman thanks pm sent!!!
