The Tred Barta thread got me thinking about all the deer hunting shows and videos I have seen. 99 percent of them are the same. The shot, the aftershot recover, blah blah blah boring. Then you see a hunter that does things a little different. Shoots little bucks and celebrates (Nugent) or looks like there having to much fun killing stuff (buck commander) Why are we so set on being politicaly correct? Everyone "ethics" are a little different. I know about respecting the animal and tradition and very serious stuff like that. But if Steve-O and Party boy from jack ass did a hunting video about fun stuff like shooting groundhogs with oozies or shooting deer and rubbing the deers blood all over each other and Johnny Knoxville taking shots of deer urine. I'd watch it. But most hunters I know would freak out. Is it because we are always under fire from non hunters we have to always be on our P's and Q's? I'm not talking about taking bad or risky shots that wouldn't produce a quick humane kill. Most of the guys on Tv are like wow I harvested a nice buck, when I'm like giving high fives to everyone and screaming "HELL YEAH" I see uncle Ted celebrate shooting a yearling doe, and I'm like "man thats cool" Maybe I'm just really tired but hey lets be honest, out of all the reasons I hunt (tradition, food, nature, adrenalin, out smarting, etc) One of the biggest reasons is I just like killing stuff. Coons, ducks, mice, deer, time. If it has a legal season, I want to kill it. Is that ok to say outloud with out people looking down on you as a hunter? Is it not politically correct to say? Anyways check out some buck commander clips. Those guys love to kill and I find myself loving to watch. profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=227440521www.camospace.com/buckcommander

You are not wrong for saying any of the stuff you just said! As a kid I would shoot many dove with my BB gun and I even shot a rabbit or two too close with a shotgun and just left it. Mainly cause I was not allowed to hunt( mom's rules) and because I did not know what to do with it. Young boys grow up with a desire to kill. I have always liked to kill. As hunters we kill for all the reasons you listed. Not just to get a rush from it and leave it where it fell. I believe I get my adrenaline rush from knowing that I need to make a good shot to make a kill and knowing that I will have meat in my freezer that I do not have to spend money for. All those reasons are valid and essential for making killing right for you. As for being politically correct, you can't anymore because of the world we live in. I feel that nothing is 100% politically correct. You will always offend someone. Good thought!

Hardcore, I couldn't agree with what you said more. I here many people say they have had a good hunt when they see animals although they did not harvest any. This maybe true to a certain extent but a succesful hunt always leads to a animal( any animal) being harvested. No matter what anyone say's if you didn't like to kill animals you would not hunt and killing any animal you are after is why you are out hunting. Food, family & friends and peace of mind ( if you have kid's & a wife) are all side benefits of pursuing that goal.

I agree with alot of what you said. It is like when someone on here posts a picture of a deer that has the arrow still stuck in it, or blood on its hide, or its tongue hanging out.. You always get the folks here that complain about that and how "disrespectful" it is. How is it disrespectful to a dead animal. Disrespect is going out and shooting bucks so you can cut the antlers off and leave the rest. DIsrespect is the way the law is set up for crop damage permits, where you have to shoot the animal and let them lie instead of being able to use the meat for anything. There is alot more disrespectful things to b*tch about then a guy taking a picture in the feild when he is excited to show it off and having some A HOLE on here critisize his picture, or pick apart they fact that is not a buck "THEY" would have shot. Well get a clue, you are on a HUNTING and FISHING website and forum. If you do not want to see dead animals and dead fish go somewhere else. If it is not a buck you would have shot, well good for you and keep you crap comments to yourself. Because maybe in the eye of the person that shot that buck it is a trophy and you do not need to make them feel bad about shooting it. Alot of the time, I know I am included, when you take an animal you are proud of, you do not think to take all that extra time that they have on TV, to make sure the picture is perfect. Maybe you are so excited about having some luck or a well thought out plan came together, that you do not think to take the extra time to tuck the deers tongue back in his mouth. I mean give me a freaking break. SOme of the posts I have seen on this website about people criticizing other people pictures is just crazy to me.. "well if it was me, i would have tucked the deers tongue in and clean up the exit wound so there wasn't all that blood" give me a break.. SOme of the folks on here need to understand there are alot of hunters that haven't been afforded the chances to hunt or the oppurtunities that maybe you have had in the past or are currently having now. I know folks that hunt to supply deer meat for their family for the year, and if that means they shoot a small spike or 4 point I am all for it. I am sure I have made comments that maybe I should have not made in the past, But I know that it doesn't bother me to see an exit wound or an arrow lodged in a deer with a HAPPY hunter standing next to it, especially when I know that the deer is going to be taken care of and handled correctly to make sure it is not wasted. Maybe some of the high and mighty need to take heed. I am sure in your past you have taken less than ethical shots and less that TROPHY deer. Take a look into your past before you start picking everyone else apart.. Good luck to all the hunters this year. Hope to see some great pictures on here Show Casing the deer in Maryland regardless of the size.....

Well this one is going to be fun!!! ;D You guys have opened a can of worms here. You all are right!,in your own ways? I mean PC, HA?? If you know me I'm the one who pushes that card all the time. I LOVE the word KILL , BLOOD etc.. it's what makes us humans, we evolved from killing things, survival of the fittest. To me being PC is letting me say, do and what I want to at the time. If you don't like it leave or keep your mouth shut. Like "Ma" told me once "If you wouldn't say it to there face then don't say it! As for what BIG FOX said: kill/catch it's your TROPHY no matter what! And some things just need to be killed for the he** of it. Makes me a better shot when it counts for food on the table. Heck just thinking about this burns me up!!! And yes its all those dam Seal kissing, tree hugger and Pansies azz people out there that make this tread come out. Next pic I post is going to being guts an blood only!! So be on the look out for it!! I'm OUT and have a BLESSED DAY? my A**

Brett, I seen that picture under your name and never noticed the arrow. You don't need a story with that picture hunter(1) deer (0) . Great picture of a true life recovery in the woods and what it sometimes looks like.
