Today My Girlfriend and I were over at Bensville Park. ANd while we were there we saw about 12 deer. As soon as we saw them they heard us and took of into the woods. We were scavengre hunting its a GPS Game called Geocaching. Well while we there we ended up chasing the deer in the woods off park land. About 10 to 15 minutes after we left we heard about 5 shots.
Is there any public lands nearby that is possible to hunt on.
We hunt over with timm1985 down in the pisgah and malberry area off 425.
Anybody ever hunt down in St. Marys Lake?

Anybody ever hunt down in St. Marys Lake? You can't hunt at the lake section (well, I THINK they allow waterrfowling as of this season). Hunting area is the section a little farther down. I used to squirell hunt there a good bit. Have seen a few bucks over the years. Nothing eyepopping, but decent. I was usually in the open oak areas, but there are some THICK areas there.I'd check them out. Alos, early bow and ML may be decent. I do see more cars in the parking area than I used to. Either way, it's a pretty neat spot.

Where are you guys talking about? I use to hunt st.mary,s river state park. It is 1,100 acres of public hunting located off of Indian Bridge road between Greatmills ,and California, MD. Or are you talking about another area??

That's the spot. St Marys SP has two sections, the lake area (closed to hunting except maybe waterfowl), and the one you described along Indian Br Rd.
