That is awesome!! Congrats on that fine turkey!! I bet you,re one happy man. My season scored a big zero. I did call some in for my nephew, and he scored on 2 jakes in 1 shot on opening day. I,ve had turkeys gobbling almost everyday i hunted, turkeys sneak in silent and almost every other scenario you can think of, but have not scored. I blame it on poor set ups and not roosting the birds the night before each hunt. Its hard to get time to all this when you got a family. I do have a crazy turkey story to tell that happened this past saturday at 4:00 pm at my house. I went to the dump , and on my return i was coming down my driveway and my kids come running out in front of my truck screaming and crying. I then looked over in my yard to see my wife with a shovel and my little dog trying to attack something in the grass!!You are not going to believe what was on the ground, but a wild turkey and a gobbler at that!!! The turkey came out of the woods and my min pin attacked the turkey and chased him around the yard. In the meen time my son Dylan hit the turkey with a toy gun and knocked it down and the dog bit the turkey in the neck, and my wife got them separated. When i showed up i grabbed the dog and put him in the house. the kids and my wife were all freaking out. I ran back to the turkey and he was just laying ther looking all around and breathing all erratic. I thought i was going to have to put him down. But i grabbed the shovel and made sure i was clear of them spurs and helped the turkey up to his feet. He just stood there , then i noticed he had about a 10 inch beard , and about 1 1/2 spurs!!! He didn,t seam to be bleeding anywhere, so istarted to shoo him off. The turkey ran up the hill with me on his butt.He finally turned into the woods. What a crazy afternoon, i still can,t believe that this happened or my family. The dog got some nice scratches on his chest . Here iwas hunting that morning in the Zekiah swamp ,20 miles away when a nice gobbler is stalking my house . I know there is turkeys behind my house , butnot a lot of sign to show me to hunt here but this might make me want to check this out a little harder. Is that a crazy story or what. BELIEVE IT OR NOT??? Its true , and i never will forget this for the rest of my life!!!

Nice job,CONGRATS!
I've only got out a couple times.(been working ALOT!) Saturday was the FIRST day, I could hunt past 0630. Heard a few fly down close by, then heard a few hens on the ground. Too thick to see much and NEVER heard a gobble.
Yesterday, I come out of the barn at about 0545, start towards the truck (to go to work again)and hear a bunch of rescue equipment. When they lean on the horn, "GOBBLE,GOBBLE,GOBBLE". Figures, don't it?
When one of teh trucks gets on teh

Bucksathome that's a great story enjoyed reading it. Osprey your right about doing it alone no one to blame but the guide. I have to say i never gave turkeys high marks on being smart i always went with someone else and had killed a turkey everytime i went but i now understand the effort they were putting out for my success and all three have recieved a phone call thanking them and especially my best friend who's farm i hunt he gave me free reign to try and succeed when he could have been hunting. This deer season i will repay that favor.
