Been seeing a few groundhogs. Heck, just got home from setting a few beaver traps for a guy. Bumped two pairs of woodies on the way back in. Got to remember that next fall. Owner said it was LOADED with all the acorns that dropped last fall.
Did see a NICE gobbler yesterday, so that's got me pumped, and a buddy said he saw 42 at his folks farm couple weeks ago!

You and another guy, setting beaver traps, with woodies?!?! Sheesh, what's in the water over there on that side of the Bay. Well Dave, I was HOPING that someone else would give you "The Talk" but since no one has stepped up, I guess it falls to me. You see, boys are different than girls. Sure, you may have noticed that boys like sports and trucks and spittin' and scratchin' and such, and that girls, for the most part, like frilly things and messin' with their hair, and talking on the phone. BUT, there are other differences as well. BIG differences. Now your post shows that you think that woodies and beavers don't mix. But woodies and beavers work GREAT together. It's more than just a symbiotic relationship. They belong together. It's nature's way. Try it sometime! ;D And remember: Woodie + beaver= ;D Osprey + Fox=

OK Dave, since I like you, I'm going to give you a few more pointers. First, it's OK if your first beaver is a BIG beaver. They need trapping too! And sometimes they smell a little funny. Little bit of Vicks Vapor Rub in your mustache will help, but after a while, you won't even notice it anymore. Remember, it's NATURAL. Just take your time, and we're here if you need us. Oh yeah, when you get some experience, you can try TWO AT ONCE! See!

;D
You know what they say "Beavers are all pink on the inside"
Well there more of a deep reddish purple, unless you hit the gut sack in which they are greenish yellow. And for all you eager beavers out there, remember, if you fall of the beaver get back on and try again.

It is cruel and inhumane to put sunglasses on a beaver Dave.

It is cruel and inhumane to put sunglasses on a beaver Dave. Lugging them (well at least the bigger one) 3/4 mile, uphill in waders, was cruel and inhumane. Thought I was being slick yesterday, and took someone wih a strong back and a weak mind with me, and came up empty. And he saw all the wood ducks in there, so my new secret spot won't be secret much longer. DOH!

Fox is CLOSED now, except for Charles and Dorchester. Heck even beaver goes out today. I saw a Dan Fitzgerald tape where he shot a mouse with his bow. Something to think about. And you could always scattered some dog food/ scraps around and wait for the starlings to land....... ;D
