Here is my problem. I went deer rifle hunting in West Virginia this year and went to site my gun in and the problem begain. I have a Ruger model # 77 300 Winchester magnum. My problem is when you try to load a bullet into the the chamber the bolt action will not close. Inoticed on the action it has a little tit that grabs the groove on the shell casing. It is not engaging . I tried spraying it down with gun oil but still nothing. Lucky enough my brother had a 30-06 i could use . Do you think i have to order a new bolt or can it be fixed ?

I called ruger once wi a problem in a P-95. They put me through to the line supervisor and a quality guy. They talked me through the fix right there on the phone. By the way, I am a gunsmith, and your problem isn't too bad. I can't say without seeing it, but I would take it to a local guy. It would be cheaper than shipping it I bet.

That's what I do guy. I live in northern Arkansas so am a fair spell from you. If you could take some close up pics of the troubled area, I may be able to help anyway.
