I have always been a little confused on this rule. I know that there is a rifle season in region A. Which is only two counties. I have heard over the years from many different people that rifles are legal in some counties on the eastern shore. I havn't seen anything in print to confirm this, but people talk about it like its true. Anyone heard of this?

The regs are on page 14 or 15. It list the areas that you CANT hunt with a riffle. If you hunt in an area not listed, your golden. i.e., all of Wicomico, Dorchester, most of Worcester.

You CAN use one in Dorchester, but not in Blackwater NWR. Refuge has it's own rules for it's hunts and it is shotgun only during firearms season. Assateague Nat Seashore is the same way I think in Worcester.
