What's your favorite Gun? ... what gun do you use opening day year after year? For me, every opening day from 1987 until now I have gone into the woods with my Remington Sportsman 78 chambered in .30-06 springfield. I have it topped with a tasco WC 3.5-10x50 scope. My dad bought it for me, t is my favorite gun, I've been shooting it since i was 11 (20 years ago) and have never lost a deer I tagged with it. I hope I can use it to hunt every opening day for the next 100 years. I pretty much use this gun on every Sat. during the season unless its raining (if its raining openeing day I still use it).

Mine would have to be my Remington model 700 muzzleloader. It is the only gun I really take in the woods deer hunting. Very accurate and reliable. I use it for shotgun season as well as for muzzleloader. I have a 3/9/40 Bushnell scope on it and wouldn't trade it for anything.

I just picked up my son's first gun last weekend at the Ducks unlimited dinner. It's a crack barrel rossi youth model with the 20 gauge and 22LR barrels. It has a metal embossed DU logo on the side. Although he wont be able to use it yet (He's only 3) I showed it to him. I know I was more excited than him, so it's my new favorite gun in future anticipation for some memorable squirrel shoots with my boy.

I haven't been in MD for an opening day for 5 years! But for deer hunting I guess it's my Dad's winchester lever .30-30. Got several bolt actions with scopes, and a few shotguns, too, that I use, but I love that old gun. The only thing I really like about gun season is walking my marsh with it, jumping whitetails and shooting them on the run.
For blackpowder I've been using a CVA Optima in .50, but I really hate it. Think I'm going back to my old side-hammer, cap lock, .54 TC Renegade this year.

Hello, New here...Frank told me about the site a few months ago. Yes Frank, I got the sticker on my truck now!
anyway, I guess my favorite gun would be my Ruger 10/22. Too bad I can't shoot deer with it.
I just picked up a H&R ultra slugger 12ga last winter. Hopefully I can bag something with it this fall.

Carry different ones when the mood strikes. Between the wife and me,we've probably taken 50+ deer with her Knight Legend she got in '93. Have a sidelock Hawkens that I like to take on the rare occasions when we have snow,so I can get out and "put the sneak on them".Rarely works out,but I have fun!HAve had it over 20 years and it holds alot of memories for me. Usually use a ML for all my gun hunting.

as for a fav. gun for me it has to be my first. The gun was made in 1912 and it a Stevens Crackshot 22. The gun belonged to my great uncle before he died and it was given to my granddad who passed it to my dad as his first gun and now its mine. My son is 4 and will be given this gun on his 5th birthday just like it was pasted to me. Now for big boy toys its the Savage model 10mlss-II camo muzzleloader......just shoot one and let me know.....yeah at 300 yards

My favorite gun would have to be my M1 Garand. It is fun to shoot and it is great for hunting. You can shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger. You only need one shot for most game though. It also does not have much recoil. I hope that I will be able to use it for a long time.
