Iread this to day in Outdoor life Dec. issue. According to this the Eastern Coyote is the result of hybridization of the Coyote and the Algonquin Wolf. It says that the Eastern Coyote will hunt in packs and grow to be 60 pounds or heavier! I did not know this!!

Without a doubt they are big up there! I heard them every day at sun up and sun down while I was in New York this fall. Loud, is an understatement when the pack began to howl. A little unnerving I might add. Interesting too, a lot of people up there believe in the whole coydog theory, wait till they hear this!

I've never seen any coyotes in Nanjemoy myself but the fellas on the next property over tell me they have killed one and another one was killed just a bit further down from them just a few years ago. They also tell me they've gotten a pic on a game cam. I've been hunting in that area for 20+ years and have never seen any so I don't think there are very many around. Not saying there not there, just saying I haven't seen any.

count your blessings if you dont have them. we have had the problem for awhile. pretty much open season on them around here. but in feb they brake out the dogs around here. you can chase them for miles.
