It was great. I got two big bears and my brother got his first bear also. First one was a 500 yard stalk and a 300 yard shot. The second one was up close and personal at 50 yards. My brother got his at 125 yards. Guys this is a rush to spot and stalk an animal of this size. Hopefully the picture showed up still trying figure them out.

That is AWESOME. Have you ate any of the meat yet? Mounting any of tanning the hide? Would you rercomend the outfitter you went with and who?

Why is the head/face rubbed so hard, or does it just look that way in the pics?
What outfitter? Thanks,Dave

Congrats on the bear, great pics too. That's something I didn't get when I took my first bear was photos. I killed it at last light and by the time I got it to the road it was pitch black, the outfitter was a good 15 miles away and I was a little leary of the wolves. I will get my rug back this week, it's taken 10 months for the entire rugging process.

Not sure of why the face is that way? The guide said it could be from ticks when in hibernation. Did not eat any meat, they were not set up for it. Also heard that the meat of bear when they are coming out of hibernation is not all that good because they have had no food except maybe scat in the den. Fall meat is supposedly better. I am getting them mounted at Martins and they will be a half body mount straight up should look nice.

Thanks, it is a SIG 300 Win Mag, with 3.5-10 Leupold. Makes it comfortable for long shots, but it is so finicky about what ammo it shoots. But is shot with better accuracy by others rather than it's owner. Spoke with and sent pictures to the Bear Hunting Magazine editors and I am waiting on there staff to evaluate the shaved head look. So far one guy has said it could be from digging through the ice crusted snow if they came out of hibernation early. Still waiting on final out come will let you know.
