I went out fox hunting tonight and had two foxes come in to my calling device. I used the injured cottontail sound. First time out and it was a blast. I had to get home so I didn't stay out too late. They never got close enogh to shoot and when I shined them with the spotlight they turned around and ran. Is there a trick to it? I didn't have a red filter on the light and waited like five minutes to shine. It was cool to have them out in the middle of the field looking for a free meal. Anybody do any predator/fox hunting?

i have done it alot, you need a good flash light that will not blind the foxes, you would be surprised on how well you can see them in a scope when all you can see is their eyes in the light, a red filter works well too. you can also go out before it gets to dark or first thing in the morning. also when you first set up try calling real soft, it tends to bring them in closer so you can get the shot before they get away.
