Hog hunting...hmm... it's been a while since I've been but the last time I went, we took 6 all between 150-200lbs. If you guys are looking into going, search around the southern parts of ohio. There are farms down around here where they offer 3-4 day hunts for them relatively inexpensive... but here in Ohio, if you're on public grounds, feral pig in free game... they are considered a domestic disturbance and the DNR says to kill all you see. Down around the Hocking area some hunters over our week long gun season checked in around 20 hogs off public lands. But as far as taste goes...HOLY CRAP! Tastes better than regular store bought pork. The best part of killing one is the cracklings you get from rendering the lard out of their skin, mmm good.

I'd like to go hog hunting, I'd definitly go if I could afford it. Would not mind hunting one from a stand or with dogs on it..... I think I'd prefer from a stand though (or from the ground w/o dogs)

I have been looking into prices for a south carolina trip in JULY and the cheapest I can find is $500 a person. Jarhead do you have any names of outfitters in that state? I just want a one day/no lodging needed wild pig hunt. Hoping to find one around $200 a person.

I have hunted with a guide named Anthony Oliver a bunch of times in Georgia. True wild hogs. They have never see a fence in their life. They have been wild on tidal islands out in the river for 100's of years. My son and myself have shot a bunch of hogs with our bows there. www.backwaterboars.com/index.html

And I like their slogan.............
"8,000 Acres, No Fences! Get Hog Wild!"
Now that's what I'm talking about!

In reading an article out of Field & Stream, it stated, "Wild hogs are found in 31 states, ranging from Maryland south to Florida and west to the Pacific coast...” I wonder, where in Maryland is this article referring too?
