Heard this from a buddy yesterday at a cookout...being a native of PA, he was telling me that the local rivers where he grew up are having problems with pollution, specifically estrogenic substances, being dumped into the rivers. The chemicals are starting to effect the catfish in the manner that the male fish are producing eggs and female organs...pretty weird stuff...here is a link to the story... Female Catfish???...moderators...if the link shouldnt be here just remove it...thanks for understanding

Problems here, too, with bass and sunfish in some sections of the Potomac. Read elsewhere that one of the culprits is birth control pill/estrogen use by human women - it flushes out of their system, goes into wastewater and then into waterways where the fish ingest/absorb it. Scary stuff.

May turn out to be an evoultionary advantage, much like the 3-eyed fish on The Simpsons.
Think of the plus side: they can spawn themselves, much like half the folks here. Hee hee!
