The crows are killing my tomatoe patch, they are going through and pecking holes in every half ripe tomatoe.
Any ideas on how to keep them out??
The shotgun is working but I'm not there all the time.

My dad once tied a crow that he shot to a tall pole. It worked great. We did not see one crow in the garden for the rest of the summer.

One time on a gardening show I saw a guy who got motion detecting sprinklers to keep squirrels away. You could also buy/train a falcon??

Or stick JARHEAD up in the garden, he is sure to scare off all the crows, small children and most adults....

Thanks yall for your help, went to bass-pro on my lunch time (haha) today and they were out of owl decoys, and rubber snakes. The pet shops are out of falcons! not growing tomatoes is not a option. so the remington is working the best for know. didn't want to hang dead birds up in the garden. one thing for sure the crows that escape remington, i think have been hitting dads garden.

There is always the other old fashioned way. Scatter several disposable metal pie plates attached to stakes by a short length of string throughout the garden. Apparently, the movement in the wind, the glare of the sun and the sound of the plates banging around acts as a deterant. Its cheap and might be worth a shot.

I had the same problem with crows and placed an owl decoy on a pole in the center of the garden. What a waist of time there was three crows walking around the garden the next morning. I went and got the 9" pie plates and hung them by string, and have not seen a crow yet. Looks like Sanford and Sons Garden but the veggies are not being pecked!
