No check in for archery, just have your permit and go after 'em. Any section south of the Visitor Center will be 99% sika, just pick one and start exploring/learning it. Good luck, the late season can be great on sikas.

Not this weekend, but hopefully next week.
U is good, but it's a mix of whitetails and sika. Saw some nice bucks and stags crossing into that area this summer in velvet. I killed my very first deer (sika doe) in that section nearly 22 years ago! Good luck Vinnie, hope you score.

Went down yesterday evening, saw one on the way in, one on the way out, none while hunting. 'Course I was ground hunting in phrag thickets, they'd have to be close. Like that I either shoot or don't see anything, but can get some awesome shots. The one I saw on the way in was funny. Little yearling, crossed the road in front of me and stood 5' away in the brush. Wanted to see what she'd take, so I stopped next to her, took the truck out of gear, got out the door, even pretended I was drawing a bow. Deer stood there the whole time. I shoulda thrown a rope around her and invited Fox down the next day!!

I'm going for one more Monday afternoon. I kid not when I say "Sika is the best tasting wild game I have ever had" We cooked sika scrap meat and whitetail backstrap, not even close. Then we cooked the sika backstrap.....................HOLY COW.........awesome! Even my wife, who doesn't eat wild game, devoured the sika. Amazingly Awesome!!!
Did I mention they taste great?
