That is a HUGE sika - makes me want to make sure I get out after them again this year.

This one was killed by my buddy on his land in Dorchester county during rifle season. He is a bruiser when it comes to sika's.

Drove 130 miles on Thursday, midmorning,,crawled into the chest waders, packed the rest of my gear on top my portable stand, and walked/wallowed over a mile back to my "Secret" spot. Found a fresh gutpile about 25 yds from "my" tree! Backtracked about 3/8 mile to another spot. Day started out in mid 50's,but when that front came thru,it about blew me out of the tree, and the temps dropped fast. And I was pretty damp from the hike in. Wind blew so hard my ears hurt! Oh well,I've still got late ML to get after 'em!

I'm thinking of going to Asseteague island to try my luck with a sika one more time before the seasons out. I have been told they herd up after their rut and become more difficult to hunt. That picture got my pumped up! Sucks about the gut pile, maybe it was just a hind and that six point is still running around.

Try to get in on Assategue's "parking lot" hunt.
I've killed a few there over the years during the ML season.TRIED a few times this year with the bow,but got ate alive!
I'm going to try another day or two with the ML. Also have a line on a private place below Crapo that I can try. Guy that has it is only interested in duck hunting.
Good luck to you!
