Brandon, typically the blind site license lottery is held at the courthouse in the respective counties on the first Tuesday in August. You basically wait in line to draw a number and if you are lucky enough to draw a low enough number you can license up to 2 spots for $20.00/spot. Double check on the location, some counties are different. Also make sure you have this years' or last years' hunting license on you. Check out the dnr homepage for more info.

As Bartman said, it is typically the first Tuesday in August. Charles County's is held at Myrtle Grove. When I hear more, I'll be sure to post it up.

August 1 from 8 to 4 and August 2 from 8 to noon. After that you can go to the DNR in Benedict and pick a site in any county. If there are any good ones left.

The actual lottery is 1 day from what I can remember - at least that would be all that was worth going to. It is all the luck of the draw. After the one day lottery you can go to a DNR office and pick from whatever spots are left.

the actual lottery is one day, but after that you can get a blind site that has not been taken all year long. The lottery is your best bet to get a spot you really want, but if it is in a high use area for hunters you have to hope to draw a very low number to get the spot you want.. last year i think there were like 250 people at the Charles COunty lottery and our group accounted for like 10 or 12 of those. we had some good spots lasts year given that it was not a very good season for ducks and geese in general..

So If i win in the lottery, I get a blind thats already built and ready to go for the whole season? or just certain days? What is the total cost? Thanks.

Your best bet is to get an ADC map of the respective county you want to hunt in and figure out the spots you want to license.

All you get is use of a specified site of your choosing for the season. can hunt it as much or little as you want. Have to mark it with a stake with reflective tape, name and license number. Hunt from your boat. If you're looking for info on blinds you may be thinking of one of the state areas that have daily lotteries for their blinds, I think there are a few parks and such like that on the western shore. Also Assateague is like that, sign in each day for a blind. Read the link I posted, it has all the blind site info!!!

Right, as Osprey said, you hunt from a boat. No blind accept whatever you do to the boat you are going to hunt off of. You only win rights to a "spot" on the water for the season and can't build anything there. The total cost is $20 per spot, with a limit of 2 spots on the lottery days.
