I still dont have a muzzleloader so I had to settle for a little geese action. It was a little boring hunting all alone but nobody else had the day off! After I shot the first one my gun jammed! After fixing the problem, another flock came in and I took one more for my limit. Nothing gets me going like thirty honking geese trying to land right on top of me!

Cool pics. Never shot a goose but tried once this year. Might try again before the season roles out. Tasty from what I hear.

They are pretty good to eat but so far I only know of a few ways to cook them. My favorite is to lightly brown the breast in butter, onions and garlic. Then pour all of that into a crock-pot with two or three cans of chicken broth, 1 1/2 tablespoon of worcestire sauce, five whole peppercorns and a little salt. Cook for 5-8 hours (All depends on how hot your crock pot cooks) Once done, you can either eat the breasts like a roast, over rice or whatever or, you can shred the breast with a fork and add plenty of your favorite barbeque sauce. (Just like a pulled Pork sandwich)! My wife even eats the pulled goose sandwich!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been trying some other recipes with negative results. One other thing I have done is to grind the breasts and use one of those jerky shooters to make goose jerky. Believe it or not, it tastes just like the venison! Anybody have any others?
