Cootshooter, Hairy Head and Mud duck bagged 1 goose, 2 mergansers and the real kicker, double banded mallard thanksgiving morning on Charleston Creek. Saw plenty of Mallards, Geese and a few woodies. Double Banded Mallard made up for slow morning!

I'm not much of a waterfowler, what is a double banded mallard? Is that leg bands or something else?

The bands are generally put on by researchers in order to track migration and other information about the birds. Normally there is a phone number on the band that you can call to get information about the bird. Sort of a trophy.

they are hard to come by and a real treasure if you get one. my brother shot a goose that was bandedin like Maine or something and got it in Charles COunty. kind of neat to see how far they fly...
