Antlers!!! I've seen the first antlers of the year!! And not on sheds, either. Had a buck in the field two days ago already over his ears and forking at the brow tines, nice thick bases. Think he's the High 9 I passed several times last year that likes to hang in my field. Yesterday saw 4 in a field of the neighbor's, all looking nice and thick to start the year. Turkeys? What turkeys? I'm already working on food plots for deer...

Saw the first fawn of the year yesterday, too!
And I don't know what's up this year, but dang, the deer are EVERYWHERE at night driving along for work. From Dorchester to Kent all of the spray truck drivers are talking about how many deer are on the roadsides.

Had two bucks in the field night before last, antlers are growing. One already had brows and was forking again just at the tips of his ears, other was quite a bit smaller. The rain and cool temps have the clover looking PRIME this spring, should be great for continued growth...

Been seeing some good deer in our areas as well... Starting to really take shape. Friend of mine posted a video on facebook of a doe dropping twins right in front of her car when she was leaving for work the other day. Pretty cool to see how tough those old hags are. Stood there licking one fawn as she pushed out the other.. Nature is crazy..

Mmmm, venison nuggets... I had a bachelor herd in my field last night, 6 really good bucks. Not quite big enough to tell which deer they are - have several from last year I'm looking for - but all nice and one was already 8 points. With a solid 6+ weeks of growing ahead of them it'll be neat to see their progress. I got several acres of clover limed a few weeks ago and then hit it with fertilizer just before all the rain this week, guess where they were all feeding?!

My boys of summer were out again last night, starting to tell who's who now. All in the clover/chicory, 7 bucks and a steady stream of does passing through. At their current stage of growth I had two spikes, three that were wide and at least 6 points so far, one the same size that's 8 so far and one that's on my list this year. That one was a nice 9 pt 2 year old last season that I passed several times, now he's already a big 10, just a perfect shaped high rack. He's looking like a nice target for the flintlock!!! And there are at least 2 bigger bucks in the area that aren't running with this group, those are normally just down the road on my neighbor's for the summer. They just planted crops there this week, they should start coming out in a few weeks as the beans get tasty down that way.

Ya'll suck.. I miss being able to ride the roads and see all the deer in the fields. Down here the deer are so deep in the woods and swamps it's not a common sight... see more pigs, coyotes, gators..

Glad to see you check in Busco! You could ride around and glass the tooth size on those gators.

Glad you could check in too Busco. I was coming home from North Carolina yesterday & saw a black bear in a field. That was pretty cool too.

Not seeing a whole lot, but did see two running together that were already NICE a month ago.
Been DRY around here, hoping we don't get another EHD outbreak.
ETA: <-----, LOL, pretty good likeness, all I need is a Charlie Brown shirt!

DaveP lives! I was starting to wonder! Mid July now, from what I've seen past years only 2-3 weeks of tine growth left, nothing but a little bit of mass for the August velvet... What have we got now, something like only 7 weeks until treestand time?!

8 foot gators and yotes every day? No wonder you aren't seeing any deer!!

I'm still kicking, just computer/internet challenged these days.
Have seen a few more bucks last couple weeks(2 groups of 3 one morning last week).
Was going to say no real shooters, but I'm not as picky as I once was these days!
Busco, is it easy to pull a gator tag there a resident? Been a few times and it is some kind of fun.
Have enough points to guarantee a GA tag, but can't make it this year. For anyone interested, you still have a week+ to apply (FREE) and start building pref pts.
