Been hunting squirrel a good bit since the beginning of the season, & I've noticed, at least where I've been at, that the numbers have dropped off significantly since September. Been hunting Green Ridge & private property outskirts of Cumberland. Anybody else notice this? No food for them, I guess, so they moved on. Anybody have better luck in WV, PA or Garrett county lately?

I'm sure they're still there. Maybe the weather conditions haven't been all that great.
I would think the best movement would be similar to deer - before a front comes in.
I see plenty in my yard... ;D Haven't started hunting those yet.

There's certainly plenty on the Shore, can hardly hear deer coming from all the dang squirrels. Poor year for acorns, so I'd be looking for alternative food sources. Down here that's corn. Up in the mountains I'd be looking for wild grape vines, pine cones or any bordering crop land.

No snow accumulation in Cumberland, but I've heard Frostburg & Garrett County got several inches though.
