Well it is pretty slow so I thought I would chime in. Any one seeing any good activity?? Been seeing a few smaller buck hit by cars. Seen a couple big boys cruising on my road and one giant walking across a field in the middle of the day. not really seen any chasing and no day time pics on the cams.. Think my dad coming out next week should be good if it stays cold for him to get some rut hunting in.. Good luck everyone. .

It's just about right for the timing. Charles County seems to be a little behind this year as compared to years past.

Not much Chasing in PG or Charles county and seen a few small bucks and doe's when I am in the stand. Next week should be really good if we get some cold weather and overcast rainy days.

I had two medium sized bucks fighting on my trailcam at 1:30 am. That was pretty cool. Of course with these warm temps that's the only time I've seen them. Nighttime. Had some daytime shots of does. Hopefully this cold front tonight will kick things off. Been seeing more deer on the highways. Last night on my way home from work I watched one of Charles county's finest shoot a buck 3 times in the middle of 301 to put it down. People hit it in front of the state police barracks and just broke its legs and some ribs. One of em said they were taking it.

Starting to pick up a few shooters on cam. Haven't seen any chasing yet. I think the rut will be the normal Time this year. I think us hunts are like the 1.5 yr old bucks in that we want it to begin 2weeks ago.

Have seen some chasing and grunting this week on the Eastern shore. Two shooters yesterday seen chasing with a total of 9 bucks seen by one guy. I shot a 145-150 10 the other day and saw 9 bucks chasing and grunting all day with most activity between 10:00-1PM. These cold temps will get the big boys out. Finally got a few shooters on ncam during daylight too

I still think it'll be a week or two late this year, all my scrapes and rubs were two weeks late showing up this year and it always seems to peak for me one month after the first scrapes appear. That said, last weekend when it was cold lots of bucks were on their feet and moving, this weekend of cool weather should be good. I slipped out to a golf course that doesn't allow hunting one evening/afternoon with the binocs and bucks were chasing does all over that place!
If it's cold next weekend the youth hunt should be incredible!

I came to work early this morning and saw a NICE buck dogging a doe not far form my house in someones front yard.. I turned enough to get them in the headlights and watched as he ran her all over the yard and could care less I was there. Pretty cool..

This past Monday while in the stand, watched a nice 8 point chase a doe that came in. Been hunting this 8 and was confident he'd show. He did, came with in 30 yards but chased the doe to quickly, leaving me with no shot.

Just in the last few days I've had some really nice rubs pop up on one corner of the farm near my sanctuary. Hung the cam today, hoping it's the big boy...

Have seen a decent buck here cruising a bit late afternoon last 2 weeks, plus have seen quite few on the roads before dawn. Looking like it will get COLD in a couple days. I've always seen peak activity here Nov 12-16th give or take a couple days on either side. So why am I sitting at a keyboard?

Hey I'd rather be hunting too but got to get some hours in at work cause my dad arrives tomorrow and then it is on like donkey kong... Gonna hopefully be doing some herd management then.. Looking forward to getting the boys over to the E. Shore for youth day too.. Think I will take the sika seducer, grunt call, doe bleat, and a pair of horns so if it gets slow we can try and drum up some deer for the boys..

Hit Dorchester this AM and Anne Arundel this PM. Still think the peak is in the future. Finally got a shooter on his feet during legal in one of my trailcams.
