Was out this morning and had one gobbling. Wasn't making a ton of gobbles, maybe 10 or so all morning & none once he was out of the tree. Got within about 100 yards of him and watched him fly off the roost, but in the opposite direction of me.

I went out yesterday morning and had two blasting at me. They ended up in the power lines with about 4 hens. I can't get them off hens and didn't really have the time to put in that morning (work). I hope that I can get out Saturday am before my boy's soccer games but I'm not sure.

Called one in for a friend this past Saturday-21lb 1 1/4spur, Big Boss Tom ,breast was nothing but skin, all feathers were gone.
Was out this morning and was the slowest morning of the season for me. Did not hear one gobble or see one turkey. Did see 5 bucks one had split brow.

Personally had a close call two days ago with a huge bird i called in.....he locked up was getting ready to roll out and i took a shot a little farther than i was comfortable with but tried anyways since the season is almost over. He was out of there real quick! My dad connected late this morning on a bird that we have a little history with. He would never gobble and rarely strut! He would sneak in and skirt our setup time and time again. Always seemed that he knew we were there. Not this morning! His luck had ran out. My dad held tight to his setup, never called and this big boy came in for his last appearance. Way to go Dad!

I'm done, but have been seeing a lot of strutters out the past few days while working. More than I've seen since just before the season, in fact. Been a while since I've heard any gobbles though...

I'm done, but still got the fever. Going to try and get my Dad his first bird on Saturday. I'm hoping my new thermocell comes in before then.

As you all know most of the state is being invaded by the cicada locust but i was shocked by what my Dad discovered while cleaning this bird. 36 cicada locust fell victim to this old guy! Figured they were eating a few here and there but damn 36 by 09:30 AM!

Sweet J. I bet those turks are feasting on those. I haven't heard or seen one on the shore.

No doubt! They should be getting plenty of protein in their diet. I have talked to a few people since that have found similar results, just not quite as many. Was curious if they were statewide. They have cranked up pretty good here in St. Mary's. My kids picked up a 2.5 gallon bucket full in about 30 mins around the house on Saturday morning. They get really loud during certain times of the day.

Nice bird Jbirds dad!!!! I am going out Wednesday am and evening (gotta work in between). I have had a great year with three birds called in for friends. I am trying to get a few more called in tomorrow for some friends but I am sure that I will not get one this year and I am ok with that! Good luck the last few days!

Nice Bird! The cicadas coming out on this year's cycle aren't on the Shore, our current year class is just average size. I think I saw another 5-7 years or so before our next big batch.
