All in all, a simple hunt on state land. The birds were roosted on private land so I could only get within about 200yds. Made a few soft calls and they answered but when they flew down they drifted off with the hens. I waited till they gobbled on their own and gave them some excited cuts and yelps. Once I knew this bird was committed, I stopped calling. He spotted my Avian X breeder at about 80yds out and strutted all the way to the gun. He put on a nice show! He weighed 21lbs, had a 9 3/4" beard with 1 1/8" spurs.

Great bird! I've noticed that the color of the spurs can vary from almost black to opaque.
